Therapeutic massage is used to treat a wide variety of ailments, such as headaches, chronic muscle tension, tendonitis, carpal tunnel, plantar fasciitis, sciatica, knee pain, low back pain, whiplash and more. We use specific postural and orthopedic testing to pin point the cause of your pain. Both chronic and acute pain syndromes can be treated using techniques like myofascial release, trigger point release, muscle energy technique, deep tissue, swedish massage and more. A customized treatment plan can be developed by your Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) to alleviate your symptoms, address any underlying causes (like poor posture and lifestyle habits), and prevent your symptoms from returning.
Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage:
These styles of treatment can be either relaxing or stimulating and are performed directly on the skin, using oils or lotions as a lubricant to make the techniques more comfortable. Before treatment begins, clients will be given privacy to undress to their level of comfort and lie under a sheet and blanket upon the table. Through the course of the treatment, only one area of the body will be uncovered and worked on at a time. Most of the time the therapist's hands rarely break contact from the client's skin as the techniques are dynamic and glide over the tissues in a continuous flow.
